russians hacked 60 million americans into voting for donald trump this definitely had nothing to do with the democrats completely ignoring middle america
*COUGH**COUGH* US presidents are choosen by the Electoral College, "A candidate must receive an absolute majority of electoral votes (currently 270) to win the presidency or the vice presidency." *COUGH*

I love all the alt-right preaching you do on these boards but don't even know the popular vote has little bearing on the actual outcome or the fact the hacking everybody is worried about is voter roll purges. Duuuuuuuurrrrrrrr, and everything in the peepee doc keeps getting confirmed. Can't wait to see some water sports.

I am very glad that I am not a French. They have terrible government for entrepreneurial endeavors.

God bless America. God bless Benjamin Franklin.

America's status quo isn't quite that bad yet.

But if you get dealt a bad hand in America, you're going to be living a lower quality of life than a French citizen.

this is true

our status quo is pretty weird though, like, if youre middle class, your kids at school are still going to be worse off than someone whos poor in France.

Is Education a big/important topic in american politics/elections?

Besides the DeVos aunt I mean.

Edit:

Or let me put it this way,
how important is the topic education for you during a election? Top 3? Top 5? Top 10?

HELL no, its 11

When obama was trying to reform healthcare i was thinking, you know this guy should try to reform education instead of healthcare.. a smart people know they deserve good heatlchare, a healthy one doesn't necessarily know it deserves to not be stupid.

Americans have no interest in fixing education at all, even on like a family local level. In most red states you see people just embracing home school, I mean the type of person that would even attempt at making sure education was working properly, and then in blue states you have pretty decent schools, they're just difficult to get your kid into and based solely on where you live, or you can pay out the noes for private schools, that either teach your kid about social justice only, or how to be like trump jr, there is no inbetween.

For US personally? Its an issue, I don't know where I would rank it.

For the media and the political debate? Top 5 issue this election. Both Trump and Bernie Sanders traded barbs on education and education reform. When we talk education reform, we are not talking about college in the United States. We are mostly talking about grades K through 12, or high school.

Most debate was over Common Core, a federally backed organization of pre-selected school program criteria that amount to being absolutely worthless in the real world. Federalized school standards such as Common Core were something that was attacked by Donald Trump in the lead up.

Most focus is on the state level. There is a large movement to allow tax vouchers for people who wish to attend private schools, to recieve a tax voucher for the taxes they paid towards public school. Since their children will not be attending public, the idea is that they are owed a tax voucher to allow them to fund a private school attendance for their child.

as someone who attended all private and had lifelong friends from the neighborhood, as well as dealings with public transfers in highschool...

As well as rechecks 10-15 years after high school..

I can tell you the "class" of the person who attends private school is on a whole nother level than a public school kid. I am not saying there aren't good public schools and good public school people at all. I am saying there is an OBVIOUS difference in life choices, cultural choices, and attitude choices.

Attitude difference is a good term. There is a behavioral difference between a public kid and a private kid. It has nothing to do with money and probably very little to do with religion. It has more to do with INTELLIGENT parents, The more intelligent the parents, the more likely they are to select private school.

So the public/private dichotomy in the US is not because of any other reason than natural selection taking place by the PARENTS of the student.

Even the biggest private school fuckup will have a little bit of a different demeanor and attitude and behavior than a public school fuckup.

There is a problem and that is why this is a political issue as these students are human capital, as well as your FUTURE NEIGHBORS.
