Lol ah yes, "apieceoftravel.com", the famously credible source.

Sorry bud but there is a billion times as much crime in historically democrat run cities. It's not even close. Rather than deny reality maybe think of ways to change it? Radical ideas such as: arrest and imprison violent criminals rather than releasing them over and over would be a good start.
It looks like the site was using data from 2019, so 4 years ago now. But I can’t tell where and when it gets its data from. It jumps all over the place and contradicts itself frequently. It also uses the phrase “Latinx” which is a definite indicator of partisanship bias. Because the Hispanic community has largely rejected the term, it only tends to find a home on far left sites

But here’s some fun takeaways:

“Regarding Americans’ perception of crime, at least 60% of U.S. adults believe that more crimes are being committed nationally compared to the previous year, but the data tells a different story. Between 1993 and 2019, the rate of violent crime actually fell by 49%, with significant decreases in the rates of robbery (-68%), murder and non-negligent manslaughter (-47%), and aggravated assault (-43%).¹

Incomplete data and political posturing haven’t helped to assuage the general public’s misconceptions about the prevalence of crime in the U.S.³ ”

^
But wait, lol: “It appears that from 2019 to 2020, based on the available data, the murder rate in the U.S. rose by nearly 30%, marking the most significant single-year increase ever recorded.²”

- Whoops. Crime is way down and all this talk about it is “political posturing”. Oh except murder, that’s actually way up recently. Oh and property crime too, but that’s purposefully excluded because it probably happens more in the wrong areas the site doesn’t want to look at

“Nearly half (46%) of all gun deaths among children and teens involved Black victims — despite only 14% of the U.S. population under the age of 18 being Black in 2021

^
Lol kinda racist as fuck for a leftist site, isn’t it? Oh because it’s DEATHS it’s ok to use the “despite being [x] part of the population” line? Oh, ok, I have a question: who’s pulling the trigger then? Other black people, or white MAGA-loving trumpers? The site doesn’t want to say (not here anyway). It does later

“Overall, the U.S. crime rate has been steadily declining since 1991, reaching its lowest point on record in 2014. In 2020, however, there was a significant spike in violent crime and certain types of property crime.⁸ Most notable was the 28.9% increase in murders — reaching an average of 6.5 per 100,000 people. The number of murders rose by roughly the same amount in cities run by both Republicans and Democrats, but poor and historically disadvantaged communities were more significantly affected”

^
Notice when they use “cities” instead of states, all of sudden the numbers become more even. Shouldn’t have done that, being partisan and all. Still 2020 figures tho, so 3 years ago

“Regarding race and ethnicity, only a slight difference was found between Black and white offenders (44.2% compared to 43.6%)”

^
Wow that’s weird, aren’t there a lot more white people in the country but the numbers are even? That’s a whoops on the site’s part to not be racist

Anyway, thanks PRogers, I enjoyed your super racist lefty site, any others you want me to peruse, feel free to throw my way

Huh? The entire argument is over whether areas governed by democrats or republicans have more crime.

99% of cities with both the highest murder *rates* and also the highest total number of murders are governed by democrats, and have been for decades.

Here's something interesting though: NYC is the largest city by population in the country. It also has lots of murders, but that is to be expected given it's large population. Guess when it didn't though? When it was governed by Giuliani, who is a republican and was lauded even by the majority lib population for his tough on crime policies.

Can you detect a pattern here?
Giuliani was the Mayor of NYC in the immediate wake of the Biden 1994 crime bill.

The covid vaccines have a significant risk profile for young healthy males, specifically the 2nd dose. It's a perfectly valid concern, especially because young healthy males are at extremely low risk of serious illness from covid itself. The cost\benefit ratio of the vaccines improves dramatically with age, which many european nations have wisely incorporated into policy, whereas the US continues the boneheaded "everyone get it" approach. I'm sorry that none of this seems to concern you.

Ooloo you are parroting something debunked in 2022. You really shouldn't be listening to your echo chambers.

Look at the articles about crazy Dr. Vinay’s disinformation.

The guy is regarded as a quack for a reason.
I kid you not they nicknamed him Dr. Hitler Zombie.

Data! Quick, tell me why it doesn't count!
It's Wirepoints "data" lol. And the IPI. Both conservative. Both lie.

Thanks for proving my point yet again, though.

Well from Crime Data Explorer a government site violent crime is trending down for New York and Illinois

Illinois.jpg

It seems Giuliani does deserve credit for reducing violent crimes but that trend has seemed to typically continue even under the current mayors.

New York.jpg

I want to note I am not crazy about how Crime Data Explorer gathers it data. It needs more data from more law enforcement agencies.

But as already pointed out I probably wouldn't want to have lived in Nevada from 2012 to 2017 with the homicide rate.

If you don't charge people for crimes, then crime trends downwards

this is like the chinese communist party claiming no one is dying from covid because they stopped counting covid deaths

These low-information reactionary fellas argue "violent crime is worse than ever" in one thread and then "violent crime is less common than any point in history" in another, depending largely on the race or political orientation of the perpetrators.

It is deliberate strategy, not mere hypocrisy.
