lol i been walkn around in general asking this quesiton over and over, i dont get it...

but a pal the other night was messaging me and talkn about how he was killing lowbies, theya ll band together, and some other level 60s come in, and it turned into this like 2 v 20 that sounded pretty fun...

I guess with a high pop, thats what you're after with open world pvp? I could see that being fun..

But basically my thoughts before that were, this game is ez mode, if I die, i dont ever give a fuck.. so why even grief at all?

The fun in PvP isn't always greifing someone to make there life harder (xp loss, travel time to corpse, item loss etc.) It's just the fact that your skill was better than theirs. WoW is much more balanced for PvP than EQ is.
So when you completely destroy people 1v2 or 1v3, or even a 1v1 against another good player, that's where the fun comes from.

PvP or being competitive vs other players doesn't always have to be about causing the opponent grief just to have fun. You can enjoy PvP for simply besting someone or beating their ass in a fight and feeling good about it. At least that's how it is for me, I suppose everyone else has different opinions on what PvP is to them.

It's not about griefing. It's risk-reward. EQ allowed you to fight another player while something was actually on the line on the PVE side. They got this half-right with arenas.

Killing people 1v2 in Hillsbrad and patting yourself on the back gets boring pretty fast for me.

I mean the PVP in EQ is way more important. Zone control, mob control, shit talking, rep, stuff like that.

For me wows PVP was just better combat so I preferred it more. Way more fluid and engaging, no plugging, etc. I'm not trying to generally grief in either game but just get enjoyment out of the combat itself.

Wow mechanics are far more superior for pvp.. its very fun.

But I think battlegrounds are more fun for pvp than open world.. that said I understand the fun in being 1 guy vs like 20 lower level people and it feeling like you're a pvp raid boss.
