Have always preferred a "boot to" flash over any "in OS" flash.. maybe I'm just old like that.. but it could be any number of little things causing it to wig a bit..

Here is another guy same issue: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/s...d.php?t=713186

here is him fixing it.

Success!!!!!!

I come home and clear BIOS with jumper again and start from scratch. Since I never even seen past 3.5ghz I am just working to see 3.9, it's normal boost. All I did was disable HT. Hyperthreading. I rebooted and bingo while windows 7 finishes loading the Intel Boost Monitor comes up and I see 3.9! Holy crap. So I go back to bios and do a simple Manual to 103 base clock, and 41 boost on all core. I boot up and I running at 4220 mhz stable to light use. Using prime95 temps get to 90c pretty quick. Will lay off til new cooler comes in! I rebooted and run iGPU to 1250 and set RAM to 1648mhz. Rebooted and ran Performance test 64. Highest score I ever had was about 5400, now its over 9500! Nice 40 percent increase in that one...... All volts left alone for now.

Thanks again, now I got to eat this sucker....

Glad you got your shit working.

Hopefully along the way you stumbled on a good BIOS in your changes - 1504 seems to be a fan favorite.

Ran into an odd problem after I moved my PC to clean and then had to reset bios because it wouldn't boot. Since it cleared out my OC settings I went to set them back up and it's refusing to let me set the CPU Ratio above 35. It's acting as if it is a locked CPU when it isn't. I had the multiplier at 46 for 8 months (give or take) and it worked fine.

Guise of the Deceive to anyone that provides a solution.

Here's what I've posted at other forums:
Easy fix w/ 3 steps.

1. Buy a new one.
2. Sell the old one on eBay.
3. Spend time saved working on it power leveling my toon.

Glad to be of service and again , thanks for all you do! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
