Not only is it May 10, it is May 10, 2002. Since Velious came out in December of 2000, this is clearly post-Velious-release.

8th shawl is def after velious release, whether or not its pre luclin I am unsure of. I seem to remember the 8th shawl coming out in november.

Also, that patch said the quest was *updated* therefore it was already in game prior to that may date

Nah, I think the shaman skull quests, warrior pike, necro skullcap last items are all post velious. I tihnk the only one item they sneaked in is the greenmist (sks). And to your question about iksar wearable armor, its pretty much all of it. Check it out yourself, thurgadin quest armor, Skyshrine, Kael, Growth for the armor sets.

Yeah, some of these things make me sad because I think they were intended to be part of Kunark/Velious but Verant just didn't have the manpower.

That said FT3 is pretty sick and probably a bit strong for Velious.

I wonder what the maximum FT is going to be with purely Velious gear? Not that it really matters for my Enchanter anyway D

Do NOT EVER go by Alla as far as quest/item/spell etc release. First off Alla hasn't been around since the start of EQ. Second it's player/community run. They have a habit of putting mobs/items/quests into effect (and listing them on their update as 'new') when they've been around for the longest time.

An example would be: EQ Live has a lot of old quests that no one has yet to figure out how to complete them or even where they begin. If someone were to suddenly complete one of these quests and upload it to Alla, it would go in as 'new' on the May 3rd 2012 update and the quest would likely be tagged as Veil of Alaris despite being an original Classic quest.

Your best bet to find out when things were released is to cross reference multiple different sources or try to locate patch notes.

Adjustments have been made to the 8th Coldain Prayer Shawl quest.

This does not indicate it was added with that patch. Only changed/modified. There is no earlier patch notes for the shawl that I can find. I recall it being in prior to 2002. Likely, as Alarti said, late Velious. MAYBE early Luclin.

During Velious what ever the highest Flowing Thought item you had is what you got; it did not stack until Luclin and then it was up to 15 points of FT.

It's not a great weapon, but I loved the graphic in hand. It looks like a giant, two-pronged shrimp fork! I can't wait to go get one.

Aegis of Ice. Shield graphic of the year all years.

For the longest time the only shield graphic that could compare was the Aegis of the Dragorn Elders years later. Something about the word 'aegis' in a shield makes the item look bad-ass apparently.

I was under the impression you could have 1 of each type of FT, but multiples of the same type could not stack, up to a maximum of FT15

Example: You have items with FT1, FT2, FT3, and another item with FT2. Your total mana regen would then be FT6 (FT1+FT2+FT3), the second FT2 item would not stack.

No these quests were just very cryptic and took forever to solve, especially lots of the combines. The 8th shawl was just solved 8-9 months after the 7th.


Unless you can explicitly find information saying that it was implemented late, it should go in at release. And I've looked and found nothing of the sort. I'd think that this would be something that would make patch notes, a pretty big quest with a complex scripted raid, with a very unique reward...
