I think a better solution then this ^ would be to patch in voluntary item loss like it was proposed by me a while ago.

Talk to some NPC and you are now flagged for item loss. You can now loot other players flagged for item loss and they can loot you. You cannot tell who is flagged or not without killing them.

The problem with optional playstyles, like Opt in Item loss, is that is requires lot of DEV time and GM time to balance since the devious players are going to find the min/max loop hole to twist what seems like a cool idea to something abusive.

I say go hardcore and just add Looting, Put up a donation target meter each month to show how much money is needed to keep the RED server going and then let the people play the slightly tougher EQ Classic PvP server and donate to keep it running.

If only 100 die hard players want the PvP rulset and donate to keep it up then who cares if there are more folks on BLUE. Those die hards are happy playing the game they want and if the doom and gloom prediction comes true and population dies off and there aren't enough donations to keep RED open then wipe it, and introduce a new ruleset, maybe Team v Team, or Easy Mode EQ, or something completely new....

Id be down for item loss and removing xp loss, not sure how many would agree with that though.

Woulda been easier to do that last november heh.

Would be sorta like EVE, only wear what you can afford to lose.

Youd take out your "shinies" when going out on a big nite with a bunch of buddies and take out the paw stuff for low key pvp.

Item loot = naked caster pvp. A naked caster can more effectively kill someone in this game than a naked character in nearly every other MMO.

I'd much rather be able to continue to inflict pain on someone who would otherwise disrobe to fight me, by causing large amounts of xp loss.

PvP is insignificant right now.

Bind only in Cities. More xp loss on death.

Those 2 things will make PvP much more significant without adding item loot. You could actually pvp for zone control (no bindrushing) and the lames on the server who don't mind dying over and over would be less suicidal.

Currently there's almost nothing gained from PvP, most people I kill are bound nearby, my only motivation is to complete my collection of having killed everyone on the server while having only died 4 times so far. I'm as much of a baseball card collector as the next guy (wtt multiple Nirgons for a fiegi), but that's all it is right now, collecting cards.

I actually feel bad killing melee/bards because I know they'll have a long trip back and are so boned on this server for groups. I'd like it if they had as easy of a time recovering as most of the casters I kill.

Legalize Training

Increase xp loss for pvp death

Bind only in cities for all classes

It's obviously a casters world right now when melee's can only max out at 125 mr with the very best gear and no buffs and still get rooted over and over. Maybe some of these bluebs that run this joint will learn somethin about the eq pvp for us. Null save us.

herb 9 for president

do not care. do not give a fuck about xp loss from pvp. if you are not bad you will not die to PVP often. the xp boost has already diminished this effect.
