I understand what you are saying, but I disagree that level is some kind of filter for idiocy. You are no more capable of character judgment just because your toon has this or that number associated with the amount of mobs they've slain.

When I started live, it was the week of kunark release (running took much longer, etc.). I know it only took one or two instances of me LFG, finding a group across the world, running out there, only to find that my spot was filled or the group disbanded, that I started asking more questions. "Who is your healer?" "How long have you been there / will you be there?" "Are you in a guild?" ..etc.. Seriously, it's not that hard to figure out if someone is full of shit or not.

If the guy got you once, shame on him. If he gets you again, shame on you.

You got got; it's that simple. Chalk it up to experience; be more careful next time.
Really? Jeez - I played Live for 4 years and don't recall these questions. You would ask someone who invited you to a PUG ... "Will you be there?" ..."Are you in a guild?"..../boggle

What's next... "How many times have you died?", "Is the healer competent?", "Who is your guild leader?", "Will he vouch for you if I get there and no ones there?", "Is this a scam?", "Can I trust you?", "You're not going to screw me right?", "Hey, I'm overly cautious and sensitive to playing with anyone I don't know so if it's ok with you I'm going to ask a bunch of kind of weird and non-standard questions so that I can waste 10 minutes time now so I don't waste an hour later...that's ok right?....oh, you already found someone else....that' fine, you suck and are probably not trustworthy to begin with...n00b lamer...dont ever respond to my LFG requests again ok? Just fuck off and die and enjoy your imaginary group!" ....and last but not least..."Does the female druid show her titties or is it a group with an amish haffwing type"

Come on man.

It's like saying to a woman who's been assaulted...

"Next time don't look so slutty k?"

/rant over
The guy is a griefer

Yes, Glenn Beck, and Barack Obama is a tyrant who is going to force Christians to give their organs to gay people.

I'm not saying that at all.

I'm saying that by the time you've hit level 50, you know most of the high levels on this server (and certainly all of the guilds you'd expect them to belong to). If you got a tell from an unguilded 50 you'd never heard of, you might have a little suspicion about it and proceed accordingly. Especially if they appear anon.

At lower levels, but in the 20's especially (when porting is still pretty costly), you still likely know only a few people; and most people aren't in guilds. Determining when you should and shouldn't be suspicious of a player is much more difficult in this case.

On the other hand, I wouldn't travel much at this level, I might go from Sol to Guk, but I'm not taking a boat or paying for a port for a group. It's just not worth it. Sticking to a continent/area until you're high enough that 30p for a port just isn't alot of money is a good plan. But not because you're going to get scammed like this. Because excessive travel time for a group that may or may not be splitting up in 45 minutes just doesn't make a lot of sense.

- Please try and follow the “Play Nice Policy” rule set. Players need to use their common sense here and not do unethical things for personal gain. Respect camps, do not train others, don’t kill steal and don’t ninja loot. There will be consequences for these actions as this is strictly a PVE server.
From the rules. It's against the rules to do something like this. If anyone has any further information other than "lol ban him", please PM me.

You guys are a bunch of carebear whiners lol.

I don't espouse this guys actions, but if you are stupid enough to trust some random ass dude with an hour of your time (while you run wherever he beckoned you), then I'm glad you got got. Maybe next time you'll choose your groupmates more carefully. Seems like that kind of thought would go a long way to solve many of the problems players have in general, too bad it's in such short supply.

"It is morally wrong to let a sucker keep his money."
-Paul "The Hustler" Newman
I was contacted to make a banded set of armor and deliver it to rivervale for a negotiated price of 90p. While I was low on plat as i had just made a deal and bought some deufrenite i had enough to make a set. Triik ordered a set of medium banded to be delivered so on good faith i made a set and ran to rivervale only to find he wanted small banded. I began to make the small banded set and told them i only had enough plat to make a few pieces and they would need to buy those pieces then i could make more. I was told that was acceptable and when I opened up the trade window he refused to pay then picked a random pc in zone and said they would pay.

It was at this time i seen the ooc chat about triik and just accepted what happened and moved on. Tried to sell what i had made before i had to log for a week but sadly could not. So my toon is sitting with 2 sets of banded one medium and one small ill sell it when i log on after spring break.

The point: If the people can not in good faith trust the people placing orders with us for goods or items the way orders are taken, placed and purchased can be altered forever. Half now and the other half later or whatever steps need to be taken where we wont get our pocket books broken.
