I wouldn't really say it has anything to do with racism. Some people would just rather not live in a state where they were the minority and the major language was something other than English.

and then there are other people who don't see it as a problem. it seems like only the white community is bothered about this, and that leads me to believe it has racist undertones.
honestly, for me, it's not that common that i run into people who *only* speak spanish, and even then i know enough to communicate.

Southern Cali really isn't that liberal (bay area is). I lived in Boston before here, and Texas before that. All three places have their advantages and disadvantages. I thought Somerville area of Boston was VERY liberal. Little too hipster for me. Feachie where are you at in LA?

ill take living around liberals any day over bible belt moral majority types
anyone who would actually complain about that kind of thing is most likely a cowardly little white man with a handgun who needs his gun to prove his manhood. without it, he has nothing but fear.

Ya I'd heard that before lol.
And it was indeed slummy... friend-of-a-friend was shot and killed on the streets there. I lived in Cambridge by Porter (PORTAHh) Square. Really miss the area sometimes. Was nice being able to walk or T it to anywhere.

Cambridge is really nice. Way too fucking expensive though.
$2000-3000 for a shitty apartment with no laundry inside? WTF?
