Really no different than me loading up Skyrim or Oblivion with 50 different mods that let me be a werewolf/daedra/lich. It’s still Skyrim or Oblivion, but it’s a modded power fantasy version But to me it seems that EQL would keep my attention longer than using console commands or mods to trivialize everything on those other games. Because usually once I go heavy on the cheats, I stop playing after about a week

The thing to remember is that not only are you multiclass, but the mobs are multiclass too. And there is a higher percentage of multiclassed mobs at higher difficulties.
Getting smoked by a WAR/MNK decaying skeleton in the EFP Noob yard made it feel like real EQ. Getting chain mezzed by the level 8 PAL/ENC gnoll in blackburrow made it feel like real EQ. Lots of examples of this happening. It's still a power fantasy, but you can choose to tip the scales back in the NPCs favor by increasing the difficulty.
