if someone set it up correctly i bet a chat gpt powered EQ bot could like start its own guild via having like 40 chat windows open and manipulating people then like a year later you just come back and scoop all the plat and droppables from the guild bank rofl.

fed all the stuff it created for a town called Greenhaven and it's NPCs then asked Bing to

Create a text based choose your own adventure game set in this world, let's start in the apple barrel tavern and see how it goes.

Quote:
Okay, I’ll try to create a text based choose your own adventure game set in this world. Here is the introduction:

You are an adventurer who has arrived in Greenhaven, a peaceful town in the fertile plains. You are looking for a place to rest and resupply, and maybe find some work or adventure. You have heard that the Apple Barrel tavern is a good place to start, as it is run by a friendly halfling named Perry who knows a lot about the local area and its history. You decide to head there and see what you can find.

You enter the tavern and see a cozy and lively scene. The tavern is filled with tables and chairs, where various people are eating, drinking, and chatting. You see humans, halflings, and a few other races. You smell the aroma of cider and pie, and hear the sound of music and laughter. You spot Perry behind the counter, serving his customers with a smile. He is a short and plump halfling with curly brown hair and a bushy beard. He wears a green apron and a red hat.

You approach the counter and greet Perry. He looks at you with curiosity and says:

“Hello there, stranger. Welcome to the Apple Barrel. What can I do for you?”
i'd like a pitcher of your finest Apple cider ale Perry, and perhaps some information

Quote:
Perry nods and says:

“Coming right up. A pitcher of my finest apple cider ale. That’ll be two silver pieces, please.”

You pay him the money and he pours you a pitcher of the golden liquid. He hands it to you and says:

“Here you go. Enjoy. And what kind of information are you looking for?”
Tell me about the local rumors or news.

Quote:
Perry leans closer and says:

“Well, let me see. There’s always something going on in this town. Let me tell you a few things that I’ve heard lately.”

He clears his throat and begins:

“There’s been some trouble at the windmill lately. Rudy, the engineer, says that someone or something has been tampering with his mechanism. He thinks it might be the work of some pranksters or vandals, but he can’t prove it. He’s looking for someone to help him find out who’s behind it and stop them.”

“There’s also been some strange sightings in the Silverwood Forest. Some people say they’ve seen lights and shadows moving among the trees at night. Some say it’s the fairies or the sprites, but others say it’s something more sinister. Some even say it’s the ghost of an old witch who used to live there. She was killed by a group of adventurers who raided her hut and stole her treasures. They say she’s back for revenge.”

“And then there’s the matter of the missing cows. Mara, the dairy farmer, says that some of her cows have gone missing in the past few weeks. She thinks they might have wandered off or been taken by wolves, but she’s not sure. She’s worried that she might lose more of them if she doesn’t find out what’s happening. She’s offering a reward for anyone who can help her solve the mystery.”

Perry finishes his list and says:

“So, there you have it. Some of the local rumors or news that I’ve heard. Do any of them interest you?”
Yes, I'm interested in the strange sightings in the forest.

Quote:
Perry smiles and says:

“Ah, I thought you might be. You look like the adventurous type. Well, if you’re interested in the strange sightings in the forest, you should talk to Lena, the weaver. She’s the one who knows the most about them. She’s been studying the stars and the signs, and she says they have something to do with the forest. She might be able to tell you more.”

He points to a shop next to the shrine of Silva, where a sign reads “The Weaver”. He says:

“That’s her shop over there. She’s usually there during the day, working on her loom or reading her books. She’s a nice lady, but a bit eccentric. She likes to talk about astrology and magic and things like that. But she’s also very smart and knowledgeable. She might be able to help you with your quest.”

He adds:

“Of course, if you’re going to the forest, you should also be careful. It’s not a safe place, especially at night. There are all kinds of creatures and dangers lurking there. You should be well prepared and well armed before you venture there. And don’t go alone. It’s always better to have someone watching your back.”

He pauses and says:

“Speaking of which, do you have any companions or allies with you? Or are you traveling solo?”

I'm looking for someone to join me.

Quote:
Perry nods and says:

“I see. Well, in that case, you might want to look around the tavern and see if anyone catches your eye. There are always some adventurers or travelers passing through here, looking for work or adventure. Maybe you can find someone who shares your interest in the forest and is willing to join you.”

He scans the tavern and points out a few people who might be potential candidates. He says:

“There’s a dwarf over there, sitting by the fireplace. He’s a fighter, by the looks of him. He has a big axe and a chainmail armor. He’s been here for a few days, drinking and telling stories. He says he’s looking for a challenge or a treasure. He might be interested in joining you, if you can pay him well or promise him some loot.”
“There’s also an elf over there, sitting by the window. She’s a ranger, by the looks of her. She has a bow and a quiver of arrows. She’s been here for a few hours, reading and writing. She says she’s looking for information or clues. She might be interested in joining you, if you can share some knowledge or secrets with her.”
“And then there’s a human over there, sitting at the bar. He’s a rogue, by the looks of him. He has a dagger and a cloak. He’s been here for a few minutes, watching and listening. He says he’s looking for trouble or fun. He might be interested in joining you, if you can offer him some excitement or mischief.”
Perry finishes his list and says:

“So, there you have it. Some of the people who might be willing to join you on your quest. Do any of them interest you?”
let's ask all three, i buy a round of drinks for the tavern and loudly proclaim "who wants to go on a adventure!"

Quote:
You decide to ask all three of them, hoping to increase your chances of finding a suitable companion. You buy a round of drinks for the tavern and loudly proclaim:

“Who wants to go on an adventure?”

Your announcement draws the attention of everyone in the tavern, including the dwarf, the elf, and the human. They all look at you with curiosity and interest. They each get up from their seats and approach you. They introduce themselves as:

“Grimnir, son of Tharim, a warrior of the Iron Hills. I seek glory and gold in battle and exploration. What kind of adventure do you offer?”
“Lila, daughter of Elora, a scout of the Silverwood. I seek wisdom and wonder in nature and magic. What kind of adventure do you offer?”
“Jack, son of no one, a thief of the streets. I seek thrill and fun in risk and reward. What kind of adventure do you offer?”
They each wait for your answer, eager to hear more about your quest.
I offer an adventure in the Silverwood Forest, where strange sightings have been reported.

Quote:
You tell them that you offer an adventure in the Silverwood Forest, where strange sightings have been reported. You explain that you want to investigate the source of the lights and shadows that some people have seen at night, and find out if they are related to the ghost of the old witch or something else.

Your answer elicits different reactions from the three potential companions. They say:

“The Silverwood Forest? That sounds dangerous and exciting. I’ve always wanted to explore that place, but I never had the chance. Maybe we’ll find some hidden treasures or ancient secrets there. Count me in.”
“The Silverwood Forest? That sounds intriguing and mysterious. I’ve always loved that place, but I never understood it fully. Maybe we’ll find some magical creatures or phenomena there. Count me in.”
“The Silverwood Forest? That sounds boring and tedious. I’ve always avoided that place, but I never cared for it much. Maybe we’ll find some trouble or danger there. Count me out.”
They each make their decision, leaving you with two possible companions: Grimnir the dwarf and Lila the elf. They both seem eager to join you on your quest, but they also seem very different from each other. You wonder how well they will get along with each other and with you.

You have to choose one of them to join you on your adventure. Who do you choose?
i choose both of them and call the thief a coward

Quote:
You decide to choose both of them and call the thief a coward. You say:

“I choose both of you, Grimnir and Lila. You both seem brave and curious, and I think you’ll make good companions. As for you, Jack, you’re a coward and a fool. You’re missing out on a great adventure.”

Your words anger Jack, who says:

“Who are you calling a coward and a fool? You’re the one who’s going on a fool’s errand. You’ll find nothing but trouble and death in the forest. And you’ll drag these two down with you. You’re the coward and the fool.”

He spits on the floor and turns to leave. He says:

“I don’t need this. I have better things to do than waste my time with you. Good luck with your adventure. You’ll need it.”

He walks out of the tavern, leaving you with Grimnir and Lila. They both look at you with admiration and respect. They say:

“Well done, friend. You showed him who’s boss. He was a jerk anyway. I’m glad we’re not going with him.”
“Well done, friend. You stood up for yourself. He was rude anyway. I’m glad we’re not going with him.”
They both agree to join you on your quest, and say that they are ready to go whenever you are. They ask you where you want to go first.
