Was a nice gesture, and was a nice move to choke them down when you could have said something like “I don’t like strawberries, sorry” which could be at best as disappointing and at worst, rude. I woulda choked down whatever crap also, although I don’t have the same sort of strange aversion to that particular fruit that you do. Blackberries are worse and I eat those daily. The best kind of berry are of course blueberries not strawberries and everyone knows this, and cherries don’t count - I don’t know or care if they are berries or not

So she made a nice gesture and you did one back. Wholesome story IMO
