The problem with EQ pvp is that people have access to non pvp servers.

One of my fondest memories though... and I can't even fully remember it, but I know one of the old <Blood Money> guys has it recorded somewhere... Was that super noob shitty enchanter... can't remember his name.. Mountaindew or some shit (high elf), ended up being Nihilums main enchanter and they always gave him the best shit for some reason. Anyways, in the first few weeks of the server launching, we let Mountaindew run with us so we could abuse him for clarity. We made up a quest in Kaladim for him that he believed to be legit that involved him running around completing various tasks (eating muffins and milk in front of a certain NPC, etc, buy some stuff from merchants, hail some people) and ending it with him needing to put on a dark elf illusion deep in kaladim which got him xp killed. he couldn't find his corpse for a while. think one of those mean <Blood Money> boys even had him consent and he drug his corpse off somewhere. Not sure why Mountaindew abandoned us. He still playing on this server? was a nice dude but too needy since it was his first EQ experience.

Good memories. Need that new Red 2.0 server! i'll stop with the spam! peace bro's good to see ya! I know this wasn't the thread for it, but F it

Would rather roll on into Crushbone on a fresh box with a naked 8 wizard than play my BIS windstriker ranger, sow sword rogue or abashi monk.

Just sayin.

as much as I would like to see a fresh red server, that isn't happening fellas. imo a seasons cycle would be best for the server, keeping it constantly fresh and limiting the ability for basement dwellers to have a twinked char in every leveling zone to really cripple the population. It's not a foolproof mechanic obviously like limiting an IP to x amount of characters but it helps /shrug.

I would never invest time on a X1 xp server that resets every 2 years and doubt a X5-10 server is happening here. Only thing that really fucked red was the pop bleed from the initial xp loss setup and the kunark xp nerf that finished it off. With a new red server, it would be either: We get the initial pop or we dont. If we get it, it is most likely self-sustained till velious and 2-3 years of fun, minimally. If we dont, then server pretty much fucked from the start. We'd know outcome pretty quick.

I take real offense to that.

My racism is never subtle.

The arterial plaque build up alone weighs heavily on the time available to even try summoning all of the filth. Rogean could really come through with some make a wish vibes and send some of these nerds into the great beyond with at least some sense of mortal achievement before they depart.

And hopping on the Eden webpage, sheeeeeeet this is what should be happening in the EQ emu scene, dont know why this never happened /shrug

"Eden players,

The quests are in! We are proud to announce that we have implemented 600+ new hand crafted quests into the game, and we are just getting started! The first round of open world quests will be available in all of the classic zones. We wanted to provide a system that is both fun and engaging, while still giving you choice in where you want to explore and pve.

A quick recap...
Every zone will come with a set of quests geared for every 4 levels. These quests are tuned for solo-small man players, but they can be completed by any group size. They are sized so that a solo player could complete a quest in a reasonable short play session (10-30 minutes). In every town of every zone, there will be a quest giver who holds all of the quests available to a player for that level.

The teleporter will include a list of zones and their quest level ranges. This means that a player can simply visit any town in a zone with an appropriate quest level range."
