Seriously l o fucking l at the nerds trying to say the raiding aspect of classic everquest takes any type of skill.

Especially the fags from TR. You guys zerg down encounters because theres no limit to how many people you can take with you to slay the magical dragon. Thats some mad skill right there.

The only thing classic EQ raiding takes is mass amounts of people, geared warriors and no real life commitments. A lot of people here can't raid because they can't drop what they're doing at a moments notice to go kill the demigod your boxing druid just picked up on track. There are literally no mechanics to fights, just make sure you've got resist gear on for specific encounters and you're golden as long as your clerics don't fall asleep at the wheel.
truth

the best part is when these people equate skill with play time. just look at the percentage of these people post in the 'server first' thread. like i said, all you can do is pity them really. these aren't middle school or high school students. these are adults.

It's worse that your entire existence here is comprised of talking about other people like a bitch at a hair stylist. You can't even accomplish things in a dreadfully easy game, but talk incessantly about how bad others are.

You're far worse than any "nerd" here.

Our average raid size last week when we got everything but nagafen was less than 30 people. The same lie repeated enough is still a lie. Whatever makes you feel better though.

Another excellent point. The majority of the people who are high end on this server with gear, firsts, in a successful raiding guild, whatever - have no fucking commitments in real life to worry about.

I'm not saying they're basement dwellers still living at home, some of them aren't. Some people that play here work from home, or are stay home parents, or whatever. The bottom line is with a game like this, you're only successful at the end game if you have all the free time in the world to piss away on everquest.

This from the pathological lying faggot constantly referring to how he's "better" at this game than other. A retarded ape could play this game.

Indeed. I started about 2 weeks ago. I'm pretty sure that if I didn't have to work 12+ hours a day, be on-call and have to commute 60 miles a day, entertain a particular lady-friend once or twice a week, clean my own house and wash my own clothes over the weekend, among other things, I'd probably be up in my high 30's and more than likely in some sort of guild.

I'm 12th, with 15PP. Doesn't bother me, to be honest. I like living in a nice place with nice stuff, having a nice vehicle, with clean clothes and a fridge full of Jager. I don't give a shit about your level 60, full Hate gear, GEBs and 100,000 plat, levitating in the EC tunnel, preening for anyone that happens to run by for the 3-4 or so hours a day that I play. But if that is what makes ya happy, marvelous. Knock yourself out. (Speaking in general terms here, no one in particular). Been there done that and though I was Mr. Awesome in-game, the only people who ultimately gave a damn were people whom I didn't even know most of their real names and never saw again the moment I sold my account for $500.

Though, I have to chuckle at those who seem to think that their status in an MMO actually has any bearing on their status in reality. Then again, it's been that way since Day One of this genre. Tis the nature of the beast. Unfortunately those who do, normally wallow like pigs in slop in the admiration of those who feel as they do and well, in my experience, most of them are like you said, either basement dwellers at Mom and Dad's and/or jobless. Those tend to give the stay-at-home parents, or self-employed people a bad name and can get rather ...annoying at times, I will admit.

In response to Knuckle's rant, yeah. I tend to agree as well. Back in the day, I vaguely remember thinking it was somewhat difficult, but then again, I had nothing to compare it to then. I also remember being bored, reading books while glancing up at the screen every now and then, falling asleep at the keyboard, and a lot of hurry-up-and-wait. I remember being out at the club or out with friends and getting paged for a raid spawn (didn't have cell phones back then), hauling ass home after feeding my friends some bullshit non-dork excuse, to log in half-drunk, only to sit and wait for 4+ hours.

After that was DAoC. I wouldn't even call them raids. More like, bum rushes. It wasn't until the early days of Age of Conan in 2008 as a 80th level necromancer in a raiding guild doing 24-man T2 and T3's three times a week that I realized that, you know what?

EQ raiding is really not that difficult at all. Not. At. All.
