I think there's a pretty strong argument to be made that a 4:3 viewport with a ton of empty space on a side that you stuff all your UI features in is less classic than a 16:9 setup with UI over your play area. I don't care either way, but yeah.

Pretty basic.
This is close to what I do.. I keep it all down low. THe spot with the least action.

Now im curious about the viewport thing since that will be in green.

Yeah I agree, it definitely feels less classic but the vertical view range and having play area be pure and unobstructed has grown on me a lot.

Here's my setup.

With the 4:3 you are not loosing any of the horizontal FOV and gain some vertical fov?

I played with f10 transparent when I was a kid, so I gotta keep that UI integrated into the play area. Also it keeps the distance between me clicking something on the ground and then something in my Ui area just that much shorter hehe

Where do you place your spellbook?
Spellbook I sometimes like, fit into the arangment, but most of the time I think I just leave it floating in the upper left area next to the UI center console type area.

Here's some random screenshots this one has a spellbook like aprox there nothing unusual.

Here was my rogue, rogue is easy. (look at all those beautiful eye patches)

That one above is basically this with inventory and bags open (I tried transparent bags, I didnt like it much)

Idk if I am going to change this though with the new UI Some of these viewports look tempting, but also idk, like I said to me it is classic to have the UI mode we have now so it feels good to me all ontop of the play area.

Edit: also fuck you deezy lol

This viewport thing applies only for top-end monitors/wide-screen ones?

I have a pretty basic monitor (1366x768 recommended resolution) so none of this applies to plebs like me I hope? Or is there something I Can do with this view port to make the game look better (I play fullscreen, first person mode, heh I know).

Thanks!

It's just that the game will only show you the same width of view no matter what, so here I've set my screen to your 1366x768 at top, then on bottom I've used "/viewport 0 0 1024 768" to bring it into a 4:3 ratio of the same height resolution, and now you can see more! (the classic amount, at least)

you can use the first number to move it around horizontally if you want it centered or on the right side instead
