I never tipped for CR ports and I wouldn’t expect anyone to do so, either. I thought that was just part of the unspoken rule here, because that’s how it went when I started playing in 2017. Tried to tip on my first CR in NRO or something, or would say something like “remind me to pay you when I have my corpse” and the nice person who ported me would say “not necessary”. Granted my CR is never too bad because I do bind myself...
I liked that social contract. I try to do the same, I never charge for rezzes. I travel to the 1-50 zones and hand them out sometimes because I know xp loss is shitty. I do get tipped, sometimes, which is very nice of the person. For ports, I always give 60pp (1/level). It gets expensive sometimes but that’s a service I’m ok to pay for. Side note, if I’m bored, I *do* respond to people /shouting “offering 300pp for a Rez in zone X”. (That’s how I make my port money [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] )

I never actively ported people, because it seemed like too much brain rot to auction porting services, herdstray cats, and med to do it again. For, how do you say, not so many platinums. I've always said hill giants tip better. I did, however, opportunistically port people who seemed in a hurry or were offering acceptable payments. 100p here and there keeps the pocket change going.
Camping items is bad money, too. The time investment between getting the thing and selling the thing makes the baby Jesus cry, and god damn I hope someone prays for the lost souls who think camping King for 12+ hours is fun. The better alternative is to use and abuse raiding guilds. When you don't need platinum, you gain it passively while playing the game for fun and only spend on providing a living wage porting fare, I always did 75p, for the muck-racking peasants who think porting is a good way to make money.

The reason people don't tip on CR ports is because you all play female wood elf druids who worship the mother of all, and kids with boo-boos need a fucking hug sometimes.
Don't play the helper class if you're not compassionate enough to wanna... help people.
