I think it's because you setup shop and getting to a camp is a challenge and feels like a victory just getting there let alone grinding at when playing EQ

That is part of what WoW and some other MMORPGs went about solving as it was seen as a problem. The time, organization and know-how was just too involved. The key here is involved. The raids in WoW might be involved and I suspect that is why the level up is short and was looked over in later expansions. Same thing happened to EQ, 1-20 zone where everyone spawns and finish in 4 hours.

Cut out all of the player cities, forget its a RPG and focus on flavorless 'video game' that makes it more simple and easy.

Imagine being a Human Rogue player in Qeynos or Freeport trying to find their guild on release day of EQ.

Yeah I agree with blizzard with all of their complaints about classic everquest, and by far most of their solutions are great.

That said, Instances are stupid and terrible. Running one 50 times in a row, is not superior to killing something that re-spawns 50 times in a row, and its the exact same, I mean THE exact same, every time, while its a challenge to maintain a camp for 50 spawns and with other players entering and exiting the area, a wildly different and magical experience.

So they failed on fixing that issue.

Yeah, I honestly can't believe just how much fun I'm having. I haven't been excited to come home from work and log on to a game since the original EQ days back in high school. I keep thinking eventually the enjoyment will fade off but the more I play the more I want to play. On Sunday my wife took the kids to her friends for a kids play date and I had all day to play. I logged in at 8am and logged off at 7pm. Usually that long of a session Id feel guilty or shitty but I've got no ragrets! Not even a single letter.

My night elf hunter is lvl 28 and climbing! My server has numerous people lvl 50+ and I've seen one lvl 60. I feel like I've been playing hard but these people have really been doing the work.

The way to grind it in WoW is to kill shit between running to and fro to hand quests in... you feel like you're supposed to run past all the trash mobs to hand things in... but actually you need to kill everything all the time if you want to grind out enough gold for your mount at level 40.

Nothing makes grinding more fun, than making it feel like it's standing in the way of the easy exp you'd be getting, if it wasn't for all these mobs you had to grind through.

Man that's 2 points for everquest, lets keep em coming boys!
