I'd say if your getting into debt, you need to research military capability, school systems and education, average salary. All of those which Australia is lacking in compared to US.

That 20k law degree in Australia is recognised internationally. So yeh 200k for education is stupid. Also what lawyer outside New York is making 500k?

Average lawyer graduation is 80-90k aligned with most other professionals in sciences/engineering. If I had my time over I'd go into finance.

Personally I never realised it was such a competition. Every country has benefits and drawbacks. But culturally Australia and the USA are virtually identical.

but that's in australia...which isn't 'merica. who wants to learn the wrong way to spell words?

At the end of the day, most law in "empire country" is derived from English Law - doesn't matter if you practice law in 'merica, australia, new zealand, or UK, the basic principals are the same.

Self employed and specialists (e.g. malpractice, international business, etc.) make boatloads.

Yes, some might earn that.
But very little do.

It costs 40-50k to get an engineering degree in Australia; I'd hate think what you have to pay in us of a.

Why do you think one of the biggest boom nation (China, a country usa is heavily in debt too) sends its students to Aus land more than any other nation? They get a AAA education for a fraction of the cost.

Sorry your nation lost the game of education.

a relative paid about 220k for a 4 year engineering degree, probably more in hidden costs.

it came with a job offer at a top firm. Id say it was worth the cost for that reason. This school had deep roots with many firms, (it was a top 40 school in the world)
