Am I the only one who is going to point out that apparently Tiggles doesn't realize that Afrikaans is a language and not a group of people? It is primarily associated with the Boeres, who are white African farmers of dutch descent.

Yup, probably the most famous Afrikaans speaker, at least in recent pop culture, is Charlize Theron. Apparently I was mistaken in my earlier post attributing it to the Boers, but given the history of South Africa and race relations, I don't think it is a stretch to say the only reason it is an official language is due to the white people who spoke it. Approx. 40% of Afrikaans speakers today are white.

I mostly just wanted to point out that Tiggles analogy is completely nonsensical.
