i dont really understand the concept of all these service guilds. Are they all just platinum collecting/RMT fronts?

do they collect dues from their members? how does this scam work.

As I understand it, to make a guild you merely need to petition.
I don't believe that at this point, there is a minimum number. As I recall the minimum number wasn't ever hard-coded into EQ, a minimum number was what live did to make sure people were serious. If the server staff here chooses not to require / enforce a minimum number, then there isn't any. One could in theory, be created a guild with one member.

Weak. Should have kept the name. Guild names are always dumb, so might as well use it to mess with the competition. I also still think Forsaken should have changed their named to Awoken just to fuck with Awakened.
