I thought the point of EQ was to have fun and be immersed in a world of fantasy. I did not realize it was a "job"...haha. I mean, if you are able to sit in front of a computer day and night, then you could work at a call center or as a data entry person. Thanks for serving your country, but I find it hard to believe that you are so disabled that you cannot do anything...obviously you can play on your computer all day. : )
The *entire* point of the original vision for EQ was that it can be played however you want to play it. You can enjoy playing casually with friends a few hours a week, being a roleplayer and exploring all of the quests and nooks and crannies of Norrath, raiding the hardest content in the game, or anything in between.

I am a CPA for a large investment bank, where I work 50ish hours a week (when things are slow). I have a family which anyone in my guild will tell you I put before the game - you will never see me online on a weekday before 8:30 PM when i've had dinner with them and put my son to bed.

Whatever mold you have in your mind that hardcore raiders must fit in to, I assure you, I do not fit that mold. In fact, most people in these guilds probably don't. EQ takes a lot less time than you think it does if you are doing it in a focused manner with specific objectives.

What drew me to P1999 was the allure of reliving my great high school and college memories of raiding these gods and dragons the first time around. I am having a blast doing it. To me, that is one of the things I do for fun. I have no idea what drew you (or some of the other people who choose to play the game with different objectives than myself) here, but I don't see how our choices impact you at all or why you are so worked up over them.

Nymphetamine is a fucking tool. He accused me (a Bard) of training him in Uguk, and of even having a FRAPS video proving this, even though Bards have to zone out or die to train people (neither of which I did at the time of this occurrence). Funnily enough no GM has contacted me about this supposed "training" so I guess Nymphetamine was a liar all along.

I am not worked up at all. I can't even raid yet since I am only lvl 25...lol. I know, I am one of those stupid moronic dumbasses that is only lvl 25 and not 50, but I do what I can. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

My earlier point was to get some of the uber guildies worked up about being total douchbags in rl for spending 24/7 online playing a game...it seems to have worked, as many are trying to defend how they are so NOT LIKE that (like I will ever believe that)...haha.

Playing online games is cool these days. Playing online games to the point of having no life outside of said game... not cool now and was not cool in 1999.

Well, for one, I am not sure what, "alpha as fuck dudes" even means so I will tackle the first part...haha. Playing a game does not make you a nerd. Playing it at the expense of anything else in your life does. So take that!

Oh I want to end with something clever so hang on.....

Delta of shit bears!

<There, now I am cool too.>

Why would you wake up to kill a cartoon on a 10 year old game for loot that will be obsolete in a 10 year old game in a few months anyway?

I figured that people would just play for the fun of it these days, this is kind of sad.

Why can't people understand that what is fun to one isn't to another and vice versa?

I mean look at the people who got their jollies off DDOS'ing the server or training EC or people who port people to the wrong place and /q out.

tl;dr thanks mom I'll do what I want in my free time

I would gladly insult all of those people as well. Adacab and his goons are a plague anyway that should be banned from these forums.

IB just put in a system that works, they have been using this same system for many many months. You can take out most of the players and replace them with whoever and it still works. I'm not saying it's the right way to do things. But EQ is about mobilization and they usually win. It helps to have a ton of guild members too. If you want to know how to beat them, just beat them at their own game.

And maybe training their tracker helps!? IMA KIDDING!
