Resources/GlobalLoad.txt does not match correct version.

Same error for me as well. Pretty sure I extracted ALL the V39 files too [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

V39 is what is causing the XML error on my machine. Multiple redownloads and repatching for about an hour now and same results. P99 won't run.
Be sure to merge folders if given the option, rather than replace. If you replace the folders with what is in the patch file, your eq client will not run.

I have gotten in the habit of copying the files out of the subfolders by themselves, rather than just dragging everything from the patch folder into the eq directory.

EDIT: This is for OS X. Copying the patch files directly over WILL replace those folders rather than merge them and you will get an XML error. Move files form the subfolders over separately.

I don't understand why buff timers have been removed (same applies to debuffs), since GamTextTriggers / GINA are allowed tools. I really would like to know the reasoning behind this questionable change.

It will cause more annoyance to people than it is pleasing to the "it's not classic cry-babies".

I accepted the "no luclin models" change (was using new Iksar model (only) and liked it). I actually am totally fine with enforced classic models.

But the change to buff timers I just don't grasp. *sigh*

You realize those "non classic cry-babies" are the people who run the server, right? Their vision is to recreate the Everquest 1999 experience as closely as possible.

A change after 5+ year of having buff timers. People got used to it.
I am not going to argue now. I am just interested to know why this change was applied.

because someone 1) realised it wasn't classic and 2) got round to making a fix?

Things aren't going to fix themselves, if some changes take >5 years then so be it.

weirdest part about p99 is they are the only game/product/project that develops patches to intentionally make a game worse than it was before - love it.

Default this probably doesnt' go here!

speaking of aoe's and dragons, iirc it was possible to be the right size/height to stand next to the stairs in the sleepers tomb and cast heals while the stair still blocked the dragons aoe. (each warder had one stair up to their spawn spot).

iirc halflings couldn't possibly become the right height but a 1shrink dark elf was about exactly right?

gm-watched confirmed not exploit at the time.
