As a professional game programmer, I cannot overstate how impressed I was at how the server performed.

Thank you for the event and the work you put into the server.

A few things to note:

The event wasn't planned. It wasn't decided to do an event until maybe an hour or two before it actually happened. At that point, we had to generate a few NPC Types and I had to write a few scripts to control it all. A range of items was generated as well as borrowed from the last gnoll event (Lustrous, etc).

The scripts were written to replace normal npc's in the zone with werewolves, and then another script was written to add loot. Had I known how many mobs it would affect we would have put more limitations on the script.

A few dozen players getting one or two pieces of lustrous isn't going to kill the game.

There were no cryosilk robes given out.

I tried to do something nice for the server on short notice, unplanned. We learn from running these events to make sure the next one goes better. Yes, more loot was given out than we intended, and it won't happen again, but it's not like at this point we're going to go back and remove all the pieces that were looted.

2nd post, really fast - I'm sorry that there are so many of you that are probably happy it got brought back for an event, but your probably not some of the elite, and probably wouldn't have gotten the items when they were available (generalizing here, apologize if I nick some of you the wrong way)

Now think about it this way. If you had put in the time to make yourself the best you could be, whats the point when everyone can be the same as you? Sounds wow'ish, doesn't it? and isn't WoW syndrome the reason a lot of us are back here?

If anyone ever got another Oaken Scimmy, I wouldn't be too happy, personally. But you, know, it's whatever. I'll be around here forever, and I support the GM's, just not some of the decisions they have made. Long live p99, by the way.
Lol "elite". In other words " I sit in my mums basement and play EQ all day so I can have mad lewtz." Is that what you mean because that is surely how you sound lolz.

I was not at this but mad props to the devs that pulled it off! Sounds like it was a bunch of fun. GM events were some of the best experiences I ever had in EQ back in the day.

Lol Taluvill, who's this rogue for whom you worked so hard to get LR? Are you talking about what's his name, the drunk?

I just would like to echo the sentiments of the "rest of us". Most of the players don't post on the forums and some don't even read them. I was not at the event because I have to wake up a 4:30am for work and I live on the East Coast. It sucks for me to not have had a chance to be there, but you know what? It really doesnt matter! My wife and I are casual players who have a great time on a thankless server run by people who have common passion for a once lost game. The GM Events will be spoke of in legend, just as the original ones were in classic. I'm very happy for those who got the armor pieces and I hope that one day, those pieces will come into play in protecting my wife and I in a group down the line somewhere! WTG everyone on what sounds to have been an awesome event!
Kunark is going to put this server over the top and I for one cannot wait!
