died last night on my 40 templar in act 4. had max res nad over 1k life but something 1 or 2 shotted me lol. it was a good first run and I learned alot. thankfully I filled my stash with rares and a bunch of shit.

re-rolled a Shadow last night. Found a build online that sounded kinda interesting and decided to try it. so far I am going thru the game a lot faster/easier. Already in act 3 level 22ish.

in-game name is Traak on Tempest.

1k life at 40 is kinda OK, but not exceptional. For the beginning of cruel you should aim for about 1.5k. Of course defenses play a role. My witch is 35 with 1k hp, but also mind over matter which will redirect 30% of damage to my mana. Armor and evasion and energy shield are important as well (normally just one of those).

such a fantastic game. too into EQ to make a go again, but played hardcore leave for the last year or so. it is what d3 should have been.

ya it may have been the tempest. I havent been paying much attention to what they do. the things that killed me was some snake worm in that act 4 level called somethings dream. it would spawn another worm thing. no idea happened so fast.

Ive been walking into them on purpose yesterday to find out what they all do.

White one is auto-crit so im guessing this is a dangerous one as you go up in levels

Im taking it easy and slowly gearing up a safe Dual totem marauder, for now i got another templar built up to 44, to farm lake until im ready to pay for someone to get me to cruel, too casual to be really good and dont wanna rip again. Im aiming to have at least one 60s farmer to drop stuff on the alts ill be trying.

You should be moving into act 2 soon, the game follows the roots of Diablo 2, there will be quests that are extremely important (skill points and main quest line) and some that you just do when you need to (reset skill points and gear). Once you get the quests and areas figured out, you will progress a lot quicker.

My first time playing I spent an enormous amount of time in act 2 because I had so many options and was very unsure of what to do next.

Here is a link to one of LiftingNerd's youtube playlist for leveling guides. He has an enormous collection of PoE video's and imo he is a great youtuber. I asked if he could redo some of his older level builds for the expansion and the very next day the guy posted up three new leveling builds for the expansion.

damnit died again. this time on the act 3 boss. he DoT'd me or something. I was spamming heal pots but my HP wouldnt stop going down even though i wasnt getting hit. it's weird because I was better geared and had more HP than my last build which didn't have a problem with him. meh gonna try again [You must be logged in to view images. lol ripped twice at around 44 myself. Ill be paying a high lvl to leapfrog hard bosses for this run, like 1 alch/fuse for domi/piety and 1c for malachai. Cruel act1 is usually smooth sailing for me till docks again where i need to watch more carefully what im doing.
