I made some really good friends at my old job, but I left to a competing company to make more money. Those guys at my old company are still my friends, I get lunch with my old manager once a week even, we just don't work together anymore. I have friends at my new job too now and am certain if both sets of friends were to hang out they would get along as well, they just don't work together.
