No, he said lute, not flute. The lull song is strings based.

Your flute is still just as useless aside from invis/levitate if you don't have the bard epic.

I could've sworn there was a point in time when the bard Faction song was able to be modified by Wind. But alas, I don't recall when nor do I have evidence for this [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

Quantified: On average it seems to raise you one or two faction rankings. The size of each faction rank seems to be different so the song may raise you anywhere from 0 to 2 ranks. Using a wind instrument seems to enhance the effect slightly. Using a magic flute will add more faction then a store bought flute
I may be onto something! Time to buy a CT Flute!!! Skip some pesky Velious factioning.

At level 60 it's I think a +600 Faction mod. Sky flute bumps that to 1320, CT Flute to 1440, Puretoned to +1680?

How did you test this?
Before pulling the 4 Emperor guards would usually lead to a critical resist, in the last two times I've done that camp, the only mob that has critically resisted has been the Emperor himself. There's no statistics done, I haven't fought enough mobs (nor taken detailed enough logs to verify when I lute vs. when I do not) to generate statistics. But my gut is convinced, so I'll continue using my lute on high level lull checks (besides, it doesn't harm anything to swap out).

I was recently convinced that lute helps with bard lull. An old dog learned a trick he should have known years ago.
crude stein helps lull more than instrument i believe

I recently learned that some of the P99 wiki appears to be updated from what "should have been" instead of what actually is.

I've been camping the hermit in SK for a few levels, and the wiki said you could hail him for a quest and/or "say" something to him to lure him out. Both of these appear to be incorrect.

Either it was changed, or it was never implemented, or I just did it wrong?

no clue where i "remember" this from, probably kunark/velious era on live, but i believe the aggro range reduction is based on stringed skill?? stein would just help with overall avoiding resists.

Other little known fact, that will destroy there magic of the game if Eratani reads it.

The "U" button is the default to replace a left mouse click in most instances (predominantly to open a locked door with a key on your cursor).

However the "U" button can also be used when trading. If you have a trade window open with a player, and you are turned facing them, and you put an item on your cursor, then push "U", it automatically places that item into an open slot in the trade window.

Should you be trading a large amount of items, like 10-20 spells at a time, open a trade, pick up item 1, hit U, pick up item 2, hit U, etc.

Saves a lot of time dragging and dropping them into item windows. Since you need to move your mouse far less.

So please - Stop the autofire trade accusations!

24 hours, 6 pages, so much information already!

I just learned that a mob resisting your spell still seems to cause as much "hate" as the full effect (damage in my case).

Not sure if it actually causes 100% the hate as not resisting though.

Does anyone know if it's a spell's max effect that is used when generating "hate" or is it the actual affect the spell has?
