Assuming this is an unserious philosophical conjecture, at least Lune gets it. I merely pointed out that cultural appropriation is a thing; not an inherently bad thing, but nonetheless a thing that is very much a part of the westernization of otaku culture.

I guess there's a larger conversation that could be had about what kind of role it would play in the assimilation of other cultures, or even about what cultural assimilation in the 21st century entails. As we all know the east has assimilated many aspects of western culture since the industrial revolution - perhaps this century we'll see more of the reverse.
