But yeah like Smedy said, if anyone has their house already paid off and you're in your 30's grats on good parents.(unless you hit it big with some crazy luck/talent like sports or performing)

I have great parents, but I moved out with my GF at 18 and paid rent for probably 7 years in an apt, and now a few years ago made it into a house on our own.

In fact, I don't think I'd have the same appreciation for my life if I was just given it.
