I like fishing. Not a beach guy.

You have obviously never had properly cooked venison fillets .

Some people embrace what it is to be a man. Some people like to live inside of their safe bubble of civilization, which you are entitled to do.

I enjoy vacationing in Mexico, but I also like hunting and killing my own meat that is free of hormones, anti biotics, etc.

Oh yeah, like the organic meat at the grocery store. I feel very manly when I hit up that section too.

Genedin gets it. I'm not much of a glory hunter but I do have a different level of appreciation for every piece of meat I don't have to kill. Nothing wrong with living life. The human experience is a diverse one. I just prefer the primal side of it. We were hunter/gatherers for thousands and thousands of years prior to "civilization" if that's what you would call it. There is a savage within, all you need to do is give it a chance.

I'd give you the breakdown of the hunt but I dont feel like typing it out.

Long story short, treed by a bear, free fall from a tree 20 feet up (broken branch climbing) run in with a wounded adult bull moose (15 feet away on the other side of a little tree maybe 5 feet tall) I was in the wrong on that one, stay the hell out of open ground when 1000 lbs is comin at ya. Got turned around and walked through the brush for 5 hours with no food water or ammo until dark. Shit got crazy but I walked out alive.

I mean like, no offense and stuff but you sound like you are pretty shitty at the whole hunting thing.

I'm definitely not the best, but I'm not gonna let that stop me from learning more about it. What would you suggest? Pussing out and eating the waaaaay over priced goods available in rural Alaska?

Branches break, bears are pretty quite in their element and you never know when you'll be put in a situation where your options are survive or die from exposure.

c'est la vie

I would suggest you use weaponry allowing a kill shot from outside of 50 yards and pack multiple first aid kits.

The one I hit was 350 yards out, neck shot right through the windpipe. The others came as a surprise, the power of natures camoflauge was underestimated by me. It really is their land lol
