Relying on mules is always a hassle unless you're two boxing.

Erudite and Qeynos have always seemed remote to be vast majority of popular content (mostly because of the absurd size of the Karanas). In vanilla, solb, najena, hhk,guk and CT always seemed be to a reasonable run from FP.

I guess I can admit that the number of times I have found myself incidentally passing through commons just kind of glancing occasionally at my auction spam window to see if there's anything interesting for sale is high enough that I can concede your point. For me, personally, I would say most of the time that happens because I'm moving my guy to WC to wait at the wizard spires for ports to a raid, which, if Toxx were the trade zone, we'd probably do all our pickups there instead so it wouldn't be an issue- in fact, it'd be better because WC is a zone removed from the trade zone instead of right in it- but most people aren't raiders so that's not really relevant.

EQ tends to lack many of the real world things that influence where markets start. But EC was a natural crossroads, where markets would usually arise in ancient times.
Now I feel like I'm in some sweet bazaar in a awesome fantasy movie that's over crowded and everyone's yelling at each other and haggling and I look like this guy, trying to blend in:

No. Guildmasters next to worthless. Often too much of a chore to even worry about for several levels.

FP always seemed the most centrally located with banking for good and evil, and both porting and non-porting traveling options.
My SK never banked in FP. Too much hassle. Come to think of it, after a certain level, none of my characters ever went to FP at all.

Just speculation, but a natural place to have the market was EC, being kind of central to 2 of the high end loot zones at the start of EQ (Guk and Sol). People could sell their crap and still be a sow's run from a group and not far from a bank.

I was on Povar and it was GFay, which I kind of liked better for no special reason. I've acquired a bit of a distaste for the market on P99 though, so I'm pleased that it's in a zone I wouldn't otherwise use and not in GFay.

Yes. Wolf form was readily available and made it possible for evils to bank.

No

No one is ever going to steal your shit. No one in TMO, Bda, Taken etc is ever going to steal your shit. Getsome (leader of IB) had me transfer a 4k item one day because i was a halfling. a level 40 halfling unguilded. because he knew no ones going to steal your shit.

anyone in a real guild is not going to steal your shit, basically anyone 45+ wont either.

I was under the impression we were talking about live, specifically vanilla, and the origination of trading zones.

I don't recall vanilla being so heavily policed by GMs to prevent scams ( which we still regularly see happen in P99).

Innoruuk it was EC. I remember getting my first FBSS there and being super excited about it.
