Didn't read through the entire OP, but you should give it back unless the person in question is an asshole/wronged you somehow. You don't have to, but I like to think the positive karma and potentially even a new friend to watch your back is worth the cost of the BP.

But he's now linking my anon alts names to my main; calling me names; making shit up about how I am unliked (not that is matters) so the longer that goes on the less inclined I will be to give it back when I get some time over the coming weeks.

I personally think he's bipolar or something and had a moment where he lost it and gave all his stuff away now I'm the target of his rage to get some back with a "passive aggressive approach". Why not approach and try and burn the other people you gave 10's of 1000's of pp of gear away to too?

Oh, I understood quite well how convoluted you made the voting rules so that you'd get to keep the item being that multiple options were being counted against the only vote to give it back.

And then that system failed you anyways. A week went by and the option to give him the BP was the winner, even when you added up the other choices. You just coincidentally disappeared from the forums for another week until after the votes, which you kept open EVEN TO THIS DAY, added up to what you wanted.
