Events are what hooked me on EQ. Not GM run events, but "scripted" ones.
I always come up with the halloween event of 2001 example because its still up there in my top 5 MMO experience, after 12 years. Just drop a bunch of mobs in a zone, with maybe a hint in a server wide yellow text, and have the players go at it. In west commons it was the sky turning purple and werewolves mobs spawning. Wraiths in eastern Karana. Undead dragon in Rathe. Not something for just the 60s to enjoy either. So for example an Orc invasion in WFP, which has orcs running for the guards, dropping nice items for people starting out. I would keep the really low level events out of yellow system text to prevent the griefers to ruin the event. No, threathening people with bans if they interfere with the event is not a good idea. We should strive as much as possible to have a sandbox experience. So if PKers come, hopefully people like me will log on alts to protect real noobs.

This is a great idea. Being firepot bound is, dare I say, the biggest single advantage a non-porter class can have in the game. It's a shame to say the least, that only older players have access to this. Any new blood to the server are at a disadvantage permanently. WTB Firepot binding!

i think farming that faction regardless of who you are or what your intention is shows a true sickness that cannot be cured
