its just that you gain less mana per 1 wis after 200 in classic. really its a non issue unless you've turned down an item with +mana due to your current having +wis.

Dbl Edit: As Azeth said, you get less mana per one wis after 200. That changes in kunark. If you can see, I have 201 Wisdom as a Half Elf Druid, and keep it pretty easily with +mana/+hp gear. Half elves get the least amount of wisdom of all the Druid races, so it should be really easy for other races to get to 200 and drop some gear for +mana stuff. I have more resist gear in the bank, the bag is just the immediate use stuff.

South Karana Treant. If you notice, it has 10 wis, and 25 mana. The Sky one was 9 wis and 50 mana, the Hate one has only 6 wis...

Naturally it was deemed too powerful and the treant was removed from game, along with the scimitar.

Taluvill has the only one on P99.
