Aside from charity, which I'll do in the form of items, buffs and ports without asking anything, why should I help someone who clearly doesn't think about helping others?

To be fair, the CC'ing is pretty insane here. I would never ask a CC in /ooc for a stranger to contribute to the already annoying frequency of checks.
