As far as opinions on how it should be distributed, I think going with a little bit of everything could be fun. Like an event potpourri, some trivia, some random, some charity, some earned through some kind of contest, etc.

I Recently did a halfling only random for 1k plat for the 2 three halflings in misty. Level requirement was 1-10. 3 Halflings won 1k each plus the lowest roller won 1k secretly. Worked out quite well I could really tell it was helping out someone who had 10p to their name.

There was a lvl 1 naked barb in misty that tried to /random and he actually rolled highest but declined him the winnings due to not being a halfling. Man he was nasty to me in tells lol.
