Why all the hate for skipdog? He's 100% right. Could he have said it better? Probably. Doesn't change the fact he is right, free server or not. I'm not a programmer, but I liken it to the analogy of a chef serving food he hasn't even tasted. You just don't do that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful to have P99, and for all the work of the volunteers. But the ball got dropped, someone points it out, and they get attacked for it? Comon, wake up. This is what the era of entitlement is doing to people.

When people are doing you a huge favor, the proper human thing to do is NOT be an asshole when you criticize them. People here are NOT giving you crap for your criticism, they're giving it because you gave that criticism like a petulant child.

p99 is a constant work in progress (yes, the live server) - why should he spend 10 times the time on his end testing things to avoid upsetting you?

Unless you're paying him going rates for a freelance programmer ($120/hour) and want to fund his additional testing time I'd quit being so critical.

If more people test something, it gets a more thorough bug report in a shorter amount of time.

Maybe. Maybe he's a complete social outcast who lives by himself and never interacts with humans ... or (more likely) maybe he's a functional human being like you and me who felt that relative anonymity of the Internet gave him license to act like a jerk.

Just because you can't see the devs it doesn't justify being an ass to them. There's no reason why people can't be critical and still give that criticism in a constructive fashion.
