WoW was actually pretty fun an semi challenging in the beginning. Not until a year or so after launch did they gay it up.

Charging 2000g for an epic mount, and the first ranking system for pvp BEFORE battlegrounds when Tarren Mill was a 24/7 slaughter zone. Those were some fun times. Also, the AQ world event was one of the best events I've ever seen in an MMO. Making each server work together to unlock AQ by farming / questing was really nice.

But yeah after all the kids started complaining about this or that being too difficult, they shitted up that game pretty bad, now its a joke.

WoTLK was still fun. Had a blast raid leading for the guild I was in, and everyone had a good time together.

I can't speak for cata or beyond, but I'm fairly sure a niche group of gamers stuck on 16 year old elf sim content probably don't make the best critics for new-gen MMOs. WOW adapted to what the majority of gamers wanted, EQ did not. WOW is still thriving, EQ is not.

Do you nerds even have the money to spend on games? I guess I just assumed most people played here because they were poor.

People who say WoW is easymode clearly never did Heroic 25 man Sindragosa or LK =)

Sindragosa had our guild on every night for a week and a half trying to beat her. There was much rejoice in vent the night everyone finally clicked and made it happen. I loved her mechanics though. Definitely a better fight than any eq_random_raid01 "lol stack this resist and bring 70 ppl to auto attack and win".
