The second map there lists giant spy in the pool room past the courtyard.

Was that his location in classic?

added the cube and guardian pathing before maze entrance.
added cube pathing in second image near giant velium statue.
added grid for jaelk
added grid for nalginor fe`dhar

Where does the maze in that key start? This zone totally confuses me and the freakin maps do me no good... I ran around looking for Druid Quest mob for about 30 to 45 mins the other night then just gave up...

The lower level cubes shared that massive table. I think all that differed from Cubes to FehDhars to Laochs was the drop rate - and even then - I'm not so sure on that being much different. I've seen almost all of these items off of the first set of FehDhars.

I'm referring to the named cubes that were up the ramp before the room with the high level cubes. They could definitely drop Lath Drinors and were occasionally farmed by melee for that reason.

Yeah, the Velics will have it for sure.

There are

hungry cubes

shambling cubes

and the various large, named Velics.

Shambling cubes range from 42 to 55. From what I can see, they had a sparse loot table until they reached level 50+, at which time they can share the loot table with the rest of the wyverns, wurms, etc.

The "Giant Spy Room" referenced on that map is the Dragon Tooth Choker quest ("Friend of the Kin or "Kromzek Spy" depending on website), the one involving Sentry Kale, Wenglawks, and Sentry Rotiart. GIve Rotiart the dispelling device and it turns him into a Kromzek Spy.
Thanks.

Yeah, but it seems like it may have been removed from the game entirely at some point after Velious release.

Summers' page has a quote "I love this sword hehe.. Verant give me back my sword. =("

EQ Atlas mirror indicates it is a drop. http://www.allakabor.com/eqatlas/skyshrine.html

Ah yeah.

I rarely killed the unnamed cubes. I do recall killing one of the first 4 entrance ones when it had a spear (brightwood) poking out which matches what you said.

My memory is telling me that the hungry cube did not have this loot table. It's a lot easier to rely on memory to confirm something than it is to deny something. I think either way you go with it is fine.

Skyshrine was always pretty desolate. People mostly killed in the courtyard for guardian/sentry armor. In my time farming Velics and Wyverns, I probably only knew 2 other people doing it. Part of the fun farming it was not knowing a damn thing about what was going to drop next.

Nevermind, Ele hit it.

Pending update,

Preliminary loots and stats complete.

Quote:
If there was a patch today, here's what I would want tested:

Hit points, resists, aggro range, maximum dmg hits. Too easy/too hard?

Loot. Too often/too rare?
Could use any information about spawn times.

To do list:
Apply cash drops for > level 40 npcs.
Quests
Aggro/slay/death messages
Yelinak himself

There was a patch yesterday, so these can be tested:
