If they don't have all that bag limit stuff and Rogean quits the staff, then maybe I'd play on p99 again some day & create an awesome new guild.

I left with a great raiding record though, flawless Hoshkar / Nexona wins, 105+ PD kills & 1 loss (nicely played Sloan <3). I've effectively beat the game for the second time around since we did it on fennin ro 10 yrs ago, so motivation to return is non-existent! Especially if velious isn't going to be free for all raiding. Have done all that stuff 100s of times anyways + server firsted majority of those targets when strats weren't public info.

I'm preferring PvP games these days since things got too kiddy for me, I need to shake off the scars left from the p99 carebear revolution. Games that have FFA pvp with full corpse loot = the only way for me now.
Not a troll, just a curious question: didn't it ever get boring continuously winning those targets?

And what's different for velious? You say you've had those kills 100's of times, implying they're boring, but.. 105 PD kills wasn't?

Good record, though. Should start up a new guild on red. I'm sure they'd love some more serious competition.

I doubt you'll see him around a Rogean controlled server any time soon. He's rocking in some different games and I'm sure he'll share if you want to join him.

Yea it sometimes got boring, but certain competitive raids gave an adrenaline rush - that's what kept me interested. Nothing's different for velious - the encounters don't change all that much in terms of mechanics. The AE's do less and the mobs have more hp + rampage/flurry. For me it was just one of those 'it's time to move on' moments.

There's a lot of potentially great MMOs on the horizon and I'm starting my legal career. I played EQ from 1999-2007 & p99 from 2010-2013. That's a lot of EQ :P Definitely time to move on.

Not to mention MMO communities should be governed by the players, not the devs & GMs. P99 is the only game I know of that player interactions and community structure is so highly regulated by server staff. Some people make the free2play argument (i.e. they are giving the game for free so stfu and abide by their rules), but all the other free2play games allow for the players to shape the community, raidscene, competition, etc. as opposed to GM forced player interactions, rotations etc. P99 GMs may as well be making a timeslot system for exp camps so players can reserve Crypt in seb 6pm on saturday. It would make just as much sense as the current raid situation.

As a matter of fact, whokilledit.com says otherwise
Does it? You realize how bag limits work right?

With the new rules in place pure competition no longer exists. Comparing guilds on based on competition in the carebear world the server has become is ludicrious.

So in short, you yearn for a bit of blood but not quite ready to go outside and actually do things that involve real competition?

Check.

So, the fact that all your other examples have multiple-servers where different community structures can develop, giving players a choice is apparently lost on you.

That's the biggest problem with your little pitty party about GM enforced rules, the uber-raiders are screaming "classic classic classic" when its been shown time and again that the different servers all had different raid scenes that varied in "hardcoreness" or "carebearness". Since creating a second server wasn't an option the raid scene was modified to allow for both playstyles while maintaining a single player base.

Whatever, have fun claiming you won king of the mountain while the other kids were playing tag with no-touch backs.
