The thing about forming groups yourself is that you can "bite back". Keep a blacklist or poor players and players who have previously denied you grouping rights because of your class (which I have on an excel spreadsheet for searching purposes)

I can think of two players back in the day who made an idiots list for me, and I didn't need a spreadsheet. That sounds like too much accounting work to keep track of idiots.

I had an alt 75 ranger in live. I loved playing it. It was a real hoot. Headshot was awesome and I could solo like mad. When they added mercs, it was just sick... My first toon in live was a wizard and I met a ranger in CB and we played together as a team for about a year. Sometimes it was hella hard but it was always a blast to figure out what strat would get the mobs dead with a minimum of downtime...

I grew up with a WE ranger from orc hill (at lvl 4 shortly before kunark was released) to farming mobs in HoHa... shiny brass shields to the windblade and practically every drop in between. He tanked *everything* and got us through every single mob our little cadre of non-affiliated hardcore players could handle, from Nagafen to Doomshade in UP. We took down Klandicar with seven people Mid-Luclin (pre-grieg's end) with 5 of the 7 sporting kunark level gear just for the fuck of it.

His name was Ieawenpo - and I hope that he finds his way here to P1999 - cause his ability would put all of you to shame, and I mean 'all of you' from the most ice ridden hoar-frosted regions of my heart.

Rangers are only bullshit in the hands of bullshit players... I watched this guy man up and handle anything we wanted to take down.

N' despite all you naysayers who lament on the amount of heals that had to be laid down - he constantly operated on a one Cleric one patch healer status... Cecil was the Cleric (HE) Bastile or Shoud were the Patchers (WE druids) We wiped maybe, in our 150+ raid targets.. 10.. 12 times, and he tanked every single time with a ranger by the name of Trajen as his off-tank 90% of the time (thank you guys for getting my monkey his earring of voracity off of DS!)

I have a low level ranger on p99 but run a pretty good guild on EZ server.

I love rangers, but I have an issue leveling them because of the xp penalty and the lower levels just SUCK. Im not the soloing type so ill group 24/7 but even then groups tend to pass up a ranger if a caster is available.

I've soloed my ranger most of the way up and he's now planar. Rangers have excellent tools to solo--snare, root, heal, damage shield, other buffs. Just find a nice spot with some blue mobs and go to town.

Because online games are like the internet chat boards. People like to be rude while noone can strike back at them. This leads to people being rude to rangers: as they usually can't hear you to get mad anyway, since they are running back for their corpse from another zone. [You must be logged in to view images.
