I just wanted to warn everyone that these ex-TMO applicants (Lysergic + Tajin) are scammers. They joined the guild as applicants less than 3 weeks ago to utilize the TMO name to gain the trust of someone in EC. They then proceeded to fake a bard epic multiquest (Only ever done by TMO leadership, plus there's no way this guy had bard guts as a new applicant).

The person who got scammed (Kugfuk) - lost his epic items and the cash he paid to lysergic due to the scam. Freddi from Taken is a witness who also contacted me about this.

I hope that the GMs punish these scammers and reimburse Kugfuk's items. I feel bad that these assholes used the TMO reputation and abused it. This is the first time I've seen such scumbag applicants come through our doors. I intend to tighten the applicant process and will reimburse Kugfuk with compensation if the GMs choose to not pursue this scam and help him out.

Lysergic is also the high 50s paladin named Nuvar. Just in case he tries to do anything like that on another character.

*Edit: As you can see, he disputes this claim below. I have made a different post with my "evidence" but since I have no concrete proof, take it as you will. I think he's lying.

Well that's a pretty big piece of the puzzle.

I just want to mention the concept of 'moral hazard.' It's an economic theory that a party will take additional risks if the costs of the risk will not be felt by the party taking the risk.

Many people attribute the economic meltdown that started ~2008 to 'moral hazard. Banks were more willing to make risky economic investments because they knew the government would bail them out if their high risk investments failed.

It's concerning to me when high end guilds respond to someone who has been scammed on an MQ by giving them the MQ. Let's say down the line someone sees a "ESTABLISHED GUILD" tagged applicant selling a necro epic for 200k and they figure "hey if I get scammed "ESTABLISHED GUILD" will just MQ me my epic." It creates a situation where a lot of people are willing to take unnecessary MQ risks and the costs only falls on the 'established guilds.' There should be some level of personal responsibility while trying to get an MQ done.

I do not mean to comment on guild affairs or interfere with anyone's personal business, I do not have enough information to make any comment about the situation these parties are in, but I just wanted to mention something I found relevant.

I'm saddened that this artifact of wisdom will ultimately be lost or nefariously implemented on this server.

Well, if you aren't Nuvar still I apologize for throwing his name in. However, I grouped with both Lysergic and Nuvar in Crypt within the past 2-3 weeks (seperate groups, not at the same time) and BOTH characters had the pull message "Fuck The Miami Heat". When I saw that as Nuvar's pull message I mentioned something that happened in the previous group with Lysergic and, after playing dumb for a minute, he admitted it was the same person. Of course, I have no proof-- there was no need to screenshot something like that.

Edit: also, both chars have the behavior of immediately looting anything that drops and holding it until rolls are done.

Perhaps a more thorough investigation to determine the guilty parties before making a public display of this.... "innocent until proven guilty?"
