I am 23 and I still play the fuck out of pokemon. I think I haven't played maybe 3 or 4 of them. All others I have definitely beat. Grass/Psychic pokemon or gtfo

I played somewhat during classic on my moms account because i was only 16 and couldnt get my own account. Day i got my debit card when i was 17 i went and got my own EQ account. yes i worked a part time job but at 17 i was also helping raise my son while working so EQ really wasnt my main concern even as a teenager.

And my point was that games that are catered to children are going to have weak main characters. not sure what your problem is with this statement as it is true.

I think you are confusing the games and show.

The show is 100% for children and the video games are all-encompassing.

The video games when played by a young person are an easy fun time sink that they play and put down in a month or so.

The Video games for older people become an OCD inducing meta gaming competitive itch.
