Alright guys, Im not one to do this normally, but I think I just met one of the biggest asses in my EQ career. Rarely have I ever encountered someone who chose to be such a blatant ass and not even try to be nice and play by the rules. His name is Azilmak, he belongs to Supremacy, and hes a dick.

Camping the 1 spec that's left outside Fear (inside spawns were taken by a higher level monk, but he was friendly so I was fine with that). Just the 1 spawn, and I had been on him for about 5 repops. Heres the conversation:

My spec pops, I go to snare it yet it is suddenly rooted and nuked. It was Azilmak.
Me: Dude you knew I was camping this one [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] I saw you run past several times
Azilmak: Except Ive been sitting here since like 6 pm
Azilmak: went to sell and you were sitting here taking them
Me: Yeah? Well you were gone...
Azilmak: and now Im back
Me: I had no idea it was even camped. I even asked monk
Me: You cant do that dude. You gave it up when you left
Azilmak: well I could just take them all
Azilmak: instead of the one
Me: Yeah you could be a douche like that if you chose to, but that would be a pretty shitty thing to do
Azilmak: i agree
Me: Plus I don't think monk is down with that
Azilmak: so let me have the 1 I have had for hours now and its all good
Me: There are no others lol. ((monk)) has all the inside ones
Azilmak: then I guess move along

Alright. There are going to be a few folks that say "Its just a spec! Who cares!". Yes, but is it not true that it was given up when he left to sell and I had no prior knowledge of his camping it? There will be others that worship the asshole-bravado that Azilmak exhibited. To that I don't have a reply, and I really don't care.

The whole point of posting this is just because A) a SK cant KS a nuker, so there's no point in going down that road. Im left hoping that someone gives a damn, maybe someone in his guild. or maybe at least one person out there learns that Azilmak is a dick, and Ill be happy with that [You must be logged in to view images. lol, sporez from <taken> did the same thing as azilmak to me. I laughed.

I've gotten in the habit of taking a screenshot with /time and a /who results displaying for the zone. Then getting down to business. If it's a highly desired camp, I'll leave a log running.

If an asshat tries to weasel in, I have my GM report fodder evidence all set to go.

I'd advise you start up the same just for instances like this. You can always delete the screenshot folder + logs when things start to get cluttered up.

Edit - mostly I do the above not to rules lawyer the crap out of someone. we're all here to have fun. It's to protect myself from the douchebag supremes that I might encounter. I've yet to have that happen, thankfully.

If you do it in general forums then provide either screenshots or logs to confirm. Witch hunts in RnF, legit call-outs in general.

Two fairly different versions of events from what I am hearing.

This sort of thing is something that /petition is for, if you feel like a player is breaking the server rules there isn't a lot people who do not have GM powers can do if they get conflicting reports.

Going to the forums isn't the best way to go about things. I encourage people to resolve their problems on their own or reach out to GMs or Guild Leaders/Officers.

Not sure I'm reading it correctly, but if someone really did go to sell and wasn't there for a few spawns I would probably give them the camp back out of courtesy (if I thought they were actually there).

If the guy came back and asked nicely, maybe. Not if he returns, nukes mob on insta-pop, and then acts like an entitled prick. I.e., not in this instance.

Someone left the camp.

Left. The. Camp.

That's pretty much the be-all, end-all. If I set up at an empty NG for some soloing and someone shows up laying claim to the camp because they were "just there" and "only went to OT to sell", how am I supposed to verify this?

Being nice is one thing. Handing stuff over at the first sign of conflict is setting oneself up for a nice, long career in being a victim.
