Pretty obvious it wasn't a problem with the contest. Reading through the thread the fight kept going awhile with no complaints till it was over and he had lost. A waiver can be made by words or by conduct. A party who waives a breach of contract gives up the right to damages or remedies regarding such breach, and cannot use the breach as an excuse to keep from performing the contract.
