I hate to break it to you, but the only people who are regularly going to spend double the market price on an item are RMTers who just jumped into the game and know nothing about the economy. You may be able to sell an item at an inflated price to an impatient player who is legitimately rich once in a blue moon, but anyone who accumulates a lot of plat didn't do so by grossly overpaying for commonly traded gear.

This holds true in real life, as well. You will find that wealthy people (the ones who earned their fortunes, anyway) are typically the shrewdest negotiators and always trying to get the best deal.

And the wiki occasionally has erroneous price info, but I've found it to be quite accurate for the most part. If you can exploit RMTers and the rare impatient rich player into buying items at double market rate, good for you, but don't pretend that that is somehow making the economy better for the average player.

So, you want the wiki removed in order to net you some additional plat? Got it. As long as we're at it, can we bring Apple down? I need to make some additional dollars on my next phone trade in.

The Wiki isn't the problem. The Wiki is great for helping with a lot of quests and identifying items.

The Price Tracker needs to go, though. That's the big problem.

Why are people complaining about the Price Tracker? Do you people think the price is too high? or low? or what? Seriously, who blindly buys stuff? Tracker or not, if you're spending a significant amount you're probably gonna do your homework for comparable prices. And if you think its too expensive people who sit in the EC all day buy/selling are probably inflating the prices more than the tracker by controlling supply.

Hello Nerds. plat is worthless unless you are RMTing. Not paying the absolute lowest price is not going to keep you from putting your kids through college. It won't make you lose your home. Get a grip on reality.

I pay what the item is worth to me. For example I bought 2 COS for 1k each and bought a CSS for 3.2 k. All in all I break out even in the end and get the things I want.

The wiki and price tracker are just symptomatic of player accumulated data just like in 1999. Auction tracker is just another variant of this. Sure it's harder to fleece people, but that's how a community works. The majority of people don't want to be fleeced and work on counter measures.

Fleeced? Simply pay what the item is worth to you. Easy, then you are never fleeced.
