I don't have hard evidence but I remember that the cobolt scare and wakening lands were droped by mobs don't remember what zones.


also quick question are you going to require folks to get the tooth from each ring so they can port into them ?

here is one quest that was initially doable at dubious faction with COV faction. hardest part was to get the correct sentry kale up one version doesn't give this quest.

it was changed near Dec 2002 you can see post talking about that change in faction their.

Anyhow Basicly you could spend 4 to 5k plate and get to max ally COV faction in a few hours.

ideally make a corpse In skyshrine have a rezer standing by have a druid/wiz port you to great divide do turn in thurgdain get rez rinse repeat. I did this on EQ Mac was amazingly fast.
The quest give 25 pts of cov faction and some pts of yalniak faction per turn in.

Obviously it was nerfed to require warmly faction because it was to easy to get to max ally cov faction and with enough ttime and money max yalniak faction.

Oh I remember for armor hunting for sky shrine faction.

You had to kill mobs in Kael arena or deeper.

Killing mobs in GD/WL etc did not give the faction you needed for armor turn ins for SS.

100% confirmed.

"Currently I am indifferent to all the mobs in lower SS. We journeyed all the way to Yelinak last night and everything remained indifferent. Including the dragons in the pyramid room. Yelinak was the only thing that conned hostile to us. Even the huge gargoyle guardians just outside his lair conned indifferent to me."

"I'm amiable to all the residents until "Komawin Fe`Dhar scowls at you, ready to attack" very high in the tower. There is a room with a pyramid in the center and 6 or 8 wyvern to the left and right (well out of aggro range I believe). This beast is one of them. I suspect he and the rest of the room is on Yelinak faction. I did see others still further in that were "amiable" again."

"I went way far into SS today. All the way to the big one himself, everything along the way was Warmly. Just Yellinak himself was KOS. Also anyone know where the guys are that give out the armor quests? I must have missed them along the way. "

"I haven't heard that he gives any quests, although he may, as VERY few people are not KoS to Lord Yelinak. It's unrealistic because Velious is controlled by dragons. Therefore, a trip to Western Wastes could see you kiss Yelinak faction goodbye."

You do recall having to farm Arena and deeper for the SS armor quest whereas Thurg, I believe, required just whatever giants you could kill, right?

What you're thinking of is different faction hits coming from the Kromrif and Kromzek giant factions. I believe Kromzek were the higher level mobs, such as in the arena, while many of the lower level mobs inside and outside of Kael were Kromrif. You needed Kromzek faction to quest the Kael armor, I think both Kromrif and Kromzek gave +Thurg faction where as only Kromzek gave +Skyshrine faction.

Yes, Arena (and deeper) giants have a different faction set (compared to the trash mobs at entrances). I think someone else already replied.

I don't remember clearly about the Manor building (and Iceshard Keep area) having this different faction.
