This is usually one of four things -
1) Install path was not c:/eqmac
(you should be running the file c:/eqmac/eqw.exe to launch)
2) you are not running as administrator
(from Windows Explorer right click c:/eqmac/eqw.exe and choose Run As Administrator
3) Your antivirus needs you to set an exception for eqgame.exe and/or eqw.exe
4) Your firewall is blocking access and you need to allow EQ to connect

The only things out of those I can think it might be is running as admin - which I will try.

The install path is correct, exceptions have been added for antivirus (after it kept trying to blow up the wsock32.dll) and for the firewall. Now the folder is EQmac not eqmac - is it picky that way or is that just splitting hairs?

I will give it another go tonight and run as admin, hopefully that solves things, thank you. I just want Velious and Luclin and this one will only go to Velious, lol [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

click the fix eqclient.ini box before you click start eq, after you double click eqw.exe..? That box that pops up that says start eq, click the box on the right, fix eqclient.ini.

And yeah run as admin.

I actually made my folder EQMac (first 3 letters capital) because i wasn't sure if it was case sensitive or not.. but i followed that set up guide and thats how it was written.

I tested it out and I can run two clients at once.

So I'm closer, but still not cigar.

With running it as admin in 16bit, I can get it past the server select screen, but it doesn't actually load into the game. Usually when I load p99 and pick the server the window text says Not Responding for a moment, then it loads in - same with char select and zoning. I'm used to this.

This one just goes black and says Not Responding, like every other time on P99, but then doesn't go anywhere ...

So frustrating! Any other ideas?

run it in 32 bit. make sure your firewall is off for your first time running it. And in your firewall, make sure eqw.exe. eqgame.exe, winsock32.dll from the same folder all are allowed. But you can run it in 32 bit, I do, edit your ini file. The eqclient.ini file.

Okay everything is all allowed, I have given it permission on my firewall and disabled my antivirus (because it doesn't want to cooperate even with exclusions). I changed the 16bits in eqclient to 32 bit and started normally, now I'm getting this error - I haven't had the loading screen actually looked like it started to load until now, however.

and yes, I have fix eqclient.ini checked on the launch pad
