Root should NOT be made 100% resistable. That 2-5% chance is the only thing that might make it possible for low-mid levels to deal with a pvp twink harrassing them.

Got attacked by a fungi twink shaman the other day in CoM. My pathetic silver swiftblade DPS was basically useless against fungi+regen as he spammed sowboots and jumped the zoneline anytime our rogue managed to get him somewhat low. I eventually gave up and began spamming root while our rogue chased him around, landing one. Nearly killed him before the duration was over but he managed to channel just enough healing to survive until the root wore.

We'd have absolutely 0 way to deal with him otherwise. Having that small chance isn't likely to mean anything in mid to large scale PvP but it's definitely needed in the mid range to combat twinked asshats.

So at 2-5% you're going to cast 40 roots and that's good? You're not dead to a twink by then? Back in my day we weren't going to fight a twink head on. We'd get a group together in another zone, find out where he is and zone in real quick/jump him/loot his regen item. I got an Iksar BP like this but never a fungi (methinks people weren't stupid enough to wear a fungi because of things like this).

How about raids spamming root at 2-5% chance? And getting instagibbed when it lands? Pretty stupid.

Level 40, unless you're in a group of insane twinks, can't gank a shaman fast enough near a zoneline unless you get that miracle root to land. Situation I was talking about was a 1v3 and there was no possible way we could have killed him without root.

In a 1 v 1 then I wouldn't even be bothering to fight him, definitely not using root. If i have someone who can distract him and my DPS isn't going to do anything but chase him away for 2 minutes while he heals up. However, me spamming 40 roots and getting one to finally land very much can cause him to blow up and die.

Isn't the base 5% chance classic? Or does classic only matter if it's "Nirgon Approved"?

I guess I should feel bad for not being able to call down a group of 5 people who are level appropriate and completely geared to handle one overtwink on a pvp server at a whim. Should just code it so those assclowns can do whatever. Fuck me for being unestablished and wanting a fighting chance.

That's not how probability works.

It's 2% actually, but yeah, Nirgon enjoys picking cherries.

Right now, at 2%, no one is doing this in raid pvp. It's already a huge waste of time to stand there chain casting roots when you could instead be dispelling or actually damaging your enemies.

Or maybe you guys should try taking advantage of this OP tactic next time we battle and see how it goes...!

Naw I enjoy seeing Haynar implementing the right stuff, looks like he is going to.

Cherry Coke I like, whatever you said naw.

We've raptured and root killed several people since I've been back np.

No longer responding to rustled people who should find a PoP era server to play on.

Yeah, because it's currently still a 2% chance regardless of resist (AKA classic).

Nirgon in favor of nonclassical resist changes yet telling other people to go play PoP. Time to hand over that Club ClassicŪ card, your membership was just revoked.

Whatev though. I don't play a class that roots, stuns, mezes, nukes, or even dispells (much). I just see all these caster nerfs and am afraid for our future.. a velious full of monks, rogues, and warriors comprising 50% of all toons. We'll see!

Self-Proclaimed Lord of Classicness gets called out for championing nonclassic changes.

Sticks fingers in ears and goes: I can't heearrr youuuuuu.

I'm all for doing some non-classic changes in the name of a better gameplay experience, but 100% spell immunity in PvP is pants-on-head retarded. The changes that are planned to go in (160resist being near immunity) are retarded sounding enough, but at least in mass-pvp can be countered with proper raid compositions and tactics and has the argument of being reasonably classic.

These changes are going to be like Christmas for asshats who enjoy griefing new players though.
