Barr says federal cases 'legitimate', predicts conviction by next summer

Former Attorney General Bill Barr on Thursday argued that the federal cases against former President Donald Trump are legitimate and said Trump could be convicted by this time next summer.
This couldn’t be better, GOP voters will feel uninspired to even go to the polls. Their own talking heads continue to push the low energy conspiracies that the system is rigged. That there is no point.

This 2024, hopefully, will be glorious for Democrats. Let’s end the filibuster, increase Supreme Court size, get rid of electoral college, make DC & Puerto Rico states and free college education (the bane of church and GOP).

NYC sure could use another giuliani.

He had the brilliant and radical idea of putting violent criminals in jail instead of, ya know, not doing that.
Prosecuting criminals is raciss.

Next summer when the facts start to sink in, it's gonna be painful. Trump will blame Republicans for not stopping his "persecution" and cause a civil war in the Party. Mitch is gone and this is beyond him, so who knows what power center is going to shakeout the rathole. It's a question of what state can the national RNC trust the Party with, with Mitch soon gone. Lindsay is universally despised, plus he has a hot and ready outing that is the last thing the GOP needs.

If they turn to Texas for leadership that means the [edit: national] GOP is really gone. Texas, unlike Kentucky, is not a pork barrel state. It has "aspirations."

The Dems finally made a smart move and ran with Biden, which is about as colorless and tasteless and odorless as a state you can get. Delaware is an onshore tax shelter. And houses Dover AFB, the key AFB. The one with the planes always running.

It's a fool's errand to try to fight against the US government, or to stop it. You have to work with it. If you use that as your spyglass for US politics, who wins and who loses makes a lot more sense. The policy outcomes are largely fixed in pure momentum (or inertia, depending on your frame of reference) and not even domestically determined, but globally fixed. Apex currency, apex military, etc.

And yet the sad sacks will say we are going to hell in a handbasket because of butt sex. It's so primal. It's like watching apes hash out quarrels and realize, wow, they're social animals too, but so... simple minded.

That's how our politics is hashing out. People who want to drive themselves crazy, and those who don't.

So now we're a candy bar ad.

Did you mean for it to highlight this part?
The thing is, he has to actually write the order. He can't just think it and manifest it into being. The content had to be declassified while he was still the executive, otherwise the whole distinction between classified/declassified means nothing and an ex president can do whatever he wants with classified material. Even if Trump did declassify it, he's not the POTUS anymore, Biden is. Biden decides what is classified. So if Trump manifested it into being declassified, Biden can manifest it right back into being classified lol. Mind duel. The Pentagon wasn't asking for classified material from the executive, it was asking for classified material from the ex-executive.

And that part is highlighted because that's what my search terms led me to. The page summarizes the process involved.
