Manchin forces their hand

Quote:
Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin said Sunday he will not support the $3.5 trillion price tag for the economic bill that would expand the nation's social safety net and that "there's no way" Congress can meet the timeline set by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to pass it.

"(Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer) will not have my vote on $3.5 (trillion) and Chuck knows that, and we've talked about this," the West Virginia senator told CNN's Dana Bash on "State of the Union."
"We've already put out $5.4 trillion and we've tried to help Americans in every way we possibly can and a lot of the help that we've put out there is still there and it's going to run clear until next year, 2022, so what's the urgency? What's the urgency that we have? It's not the same urgency that we had with the American Rescue Plan. We got that out the door quickly. That was about $2 trillion."
The tide is breaking

I think it should be ok, he shouldn't vote to end the filibuster with his current stance. I don't think the dems will do that, they aren't the bad guys. But maybe that's the plan - to make enough noise about doing it that the Red Team feels they have to after they take full control in Nov 2024, but without a super-trifecta.

Mitch and Pelosi probably discussed it over $4000 ice cream, or whatever was in her freezer everyone got mad at for a day.

The filibuster is an important part of congressional process. The whole point of our system is to prevent the tyranny of the majority, regardless of which aisle it is.

Sometimes it takes a long time to get things done, but as a result we aren't a despotic autocratic dictatorial hellzone like much of the rest of the world. It's why everyone wants to come here, even while calling us white supremacist nazi COLONIZERS MAN

They have proven they cannot govern themselves. When given power, they only seek to help donors, not the people who elected them. They send them to their deaths, telling them bullshit about masks and vaccines.

Its sad but they will probably end up in disease concentration camps because they simply cant live in a society where they cant do whatever they want, whenever they want, and needlessly endanger whoever they want.

Havent they proven that?

Uhh no, democracy means majority rule. You want minority rule. You want the rules of your religion to be law. Just step back, let the adults handle this, kid.
