Yeah it’s not a genre, it literally just means “sped up”. Any song can have a Nightcore version, including metal, rock, classical, etc. Although it’s a little more complicated than just speeding up, there has to be adjustments to the vocal tone to attempt to mitigate voices becoming too “chipmunk”-like as well

The only thing I cringe about when it comes to Nightcore is how every song seems to have some over-sexualized underage-looking anime girl as it’s background and thumbnail pic. I don’t really know much Japanese history and haven’t cared to learn it, so I dunno what part of their history contributes to this weird repressed-pedophile culture they seem to have with their animation style. It’s a shame because their combat animation is second to none

Most of those shows are meant for a teenage audience. Even in Japan it's considered weird/mentally ill to be an adult who is too anime obsessed.
